Vehicle lighting was the very first field that allowed HELLA to grow, so there is still a close association between the HELLA brand and lighting of various kinds. We offer a wide range of products covering all aspects of vehicle lighting, from headlamps and combination rear lamps to signal lamps, interior lamps and lighting electronics. Our development activities currently focus on features and technologies expected to be especially important in the future, generating benefits that customers can see and touch, such as light-based driver assistance systems, LEDs and design elements

Excellent driving lights! Haven't had a chance to get close enough to a building at night, to get them aimed precisely. They have a wide enough pattern to light up the shoulder of the road, including several feet off where a deer could be standing ready to run out.Very easy to install with the included relay. You can wire them to run them separately from the switch, which I do, or have them on continuously with your low beams. Great Hella quality at a good price.

These FF50's replaced some PIAA 520's I had on a BMW 1150GS. The PIAA's were creating wind turbulence under my helmet so I though a smaller lamp might help and it did.The Hella lights look pretty good (the GS is so ugly most things are an improvement) and the quantity of light is excellent. The pattern is tight from top to bottom and they reach out very well with good spread. They were easy enough to get assembled and adjusted and they've held their position for quite a few miles now.The lamp holders have a glass front and a plastic case. The mounts are kind of thin but made from steel and adequate. The hardware like bolts, washers, etc are average. The lamps seal up really well to resist moisture. The kit was complete. There were quite a few small pieces in the electrical connectors. The component quality was good and you won't have any problems if you're handy with basic automotive wiring.I think these are a really good value if you need some solid, medium strength driving lights. I'd have given them 5 stars if they were built a little heavier but then they probably would have cost too much!

I got a great price on this "open box" purchase but the hardware was missing making it hard to install these lights. There was no mention in the description about the screws needed to secure these lights missing from the box. The lights were new and never used but I spent a lot of time trying to find the right screws to mount these lights. If I'd had more time, I would have returned them for credit.

I am currently on a six-month motorcycle trip through Southeast Asia (junglemoto2013-14.blogspot.com). I had these lights mounted on the crashbar of the BMW before my departure and they were the first equipment part which broke. The lamp itself is OK (Made in Germany, at least this is what the sticker on them says), but everything else (cheap PLASTIC housing, flimsy metal holder bracket) is just trash, maybe from China. Also a lesson in HELLA customer service: They didn't even bother to answer my email asking for replacement parts. Very poor. Buy PIAA instead!

I ordered two identical sets and received one of FF75 (error) and one of FF50. Anyways, I installed both, so this review is for both.FF50: Small footprint. Driving beam pattern and must treat it as high beams (turn off when other cars are around). Even when installed about 12 inches from the ground these will bother oncoming traffic.FF75: Slightly better than the FF50 for fog (wider and lower beam). It is not a fog light, but installed low and with a warm or yellow bulb and it is better than stock fog lights in bad weather. Both are good quality. 2 out of 4 broke (front glass) after a few days of use in dirt roads, but continued working ok (broken and with heavy rain) for another 10k miles and counting.4 stars because beam pattern does not add too much when used to complement standard driving lights. These may be 5 stars for other uses and put out a decent amount of light.Picture: Low external are FF50. Low middle (yellow) are FF75.

I usually buy Piaa lights and know I know why. ...Hella are good lights but you have to crimp every connector and use a relay where as the Piaa harnesses are ready to go and the lights are prewired

Don't let the size fool you. These produce a phenomenal amount of light. Installation in a 2004 Cavalier went smoothly and they have performed better than I expected. A quality product at a reasonable price.

I bought a used warehouse deal on Amazon just to see if these were any good. It is a better-quality unit by hella, far better than the typical “optilux” series. The lens is thick glass, the body seems reasonably sturdy. The h7 bulb type should last much longer than the typical H3, one of the main reasons I thought I’d give it a try.The beam pattern is basically a spot beam in an oval shape similar to the lamp shape but with a central hot spot focused in the middle. There is a little bit of height to the beam, so it should be expected to potentially glare folks in the front, central point of the beam. This lamp does not have a well defined upper cutoff, but the narrow focus may give it some usefulness in keeping out of other’s eyes. There is an above average amount of scatter that escapes from this light in all directions. It’s probably hard to prevent that without a bulb shield and in such a small enclosure. A larger enclosure would improve the general beam quality too. Unfortunately, light that is scattered (a) becomes glare; (b) is wasted outside of the focus.Overall, I think this will be more useful in effective output than anything in the $50 range, and better than any of the LED products that just puke light out the front. As aux beams, they should be good. As auxiliary low beams, they’d have to be aimed very carefully, not sure they’d work out there.

Super bright, great beam pattern, makes many halogen headlights obsolete once installed. Get the overly priced protective shields. These will crack easily without them.
