Filled to the max my hot tub holds about 300 gallons + or - a few. I use bromides instead of chlorine. Just do not like chlorine. Given that, there is still the same problems of cloudy water, adjusting Ph levels, getting the right cynic acid levels , having to shock and so forth.Given that, it is irritating often times to check the water before getting in and finding out you have to put in Ph levels (Up or down granules) or there is not even a reading for the bromine levels. After reading a bunch of reviews and watching a bunch of videos on YT, I was pretty skeptical when several of the reviewers said "you don't need all these chemicals, you only need these three". These bromine granules was one of the three. One of the others being clarifier. So to give it a shot I bought this since it was the cheapest available. I have to admit, since I started using this the clarifier and bromine tablets in the floater are on standby. Meaning I haven't had to use them. In fact this is the only chemical I have used since I began using it.So for first use I drained, cleaned and refilled the tub. It's 300 gallons, instructions are for 1.5 tablespoons for 300 gallons, I put in 2 tablespoons give or take. Checked the next morning and every level was in the good range. Actually shocking (Pun intended). My experience.I test my water after getting out and before getting in. After getting out the bromides are always low. I put in 1 1/2 tablespoons immediately after using and getting out of the tub. The next day the levels are back to good and normal. I do not know the chemistry behind this product but it does work well. The negatives. One negative that is a positive is I have about $450 worth of chemicals, seven bottles and five bags out there that this replaces all but two. So it's not really a negative, I should have researched and started using this two years ago.The only actual negative is this bottle is likely to only last about a month. If even that. So it's a trade off. Do I want to not use all the chemicals I already have, constantly check then Ph up, Ph down, lower cyanic acid, no free chlorines/bromides etc etc etc., or pay $20 a month, throw in a teaspoon and a half of this and be able to get right in the tub the next day.Ill go with the $20 a month, its a low price to pay for doing away with the hassle of multiple chemicals, adjust...wait...adjust...wait and all the other things. One note.I can change water every 1-3 months. I change every 30 days on schedule since it is a pretty simple task. And from my experience by month two, if I don't change it, it's almost impossible to get rid of the cloudiness even with multiple uses of clarifier so I end up changing, cleaning and refilling anyway. So like all the other chemicals this will likely work better if you change your water more frequently than every three months.I would also caution users to take 10 minutes and read the instructions carefully. This stuff is flammable and if you use it like some chemicals, like mixing in a cup, you could have a fire. But it's only flammable if it makes contact with water and oxygen and isn't dissipated quickly as in a cup of water. No danger if you read and follow ALL OF THE INSTRUCTIONS.Overall a solid five star product.
