I got these after I inherited a jury-rigged tape dispenser at work. (A section of a straw, paperclips for reinforcement, and wadded up masking tape for bulk. Clever enough, but it looked a MESS.) This was cheaper than replacing the dispenser, and it looks normal, now.

I didn't receive the black one that I ordered, I received a clear one. The product is functional but it feels very cheap and breakable. It is functional!

I had a spare 3M/Scotch tape dispenser that I could not use because it was missing the "core" for holding the roll of tape. I ordered this product to replace the missing core. When I placed the order, the Amazon product page showed the core to be made of black plastic, which is the color I have seen for these cores on every other Scotch tape dispenser of this type. However, a day after I placed the order, my order summary page showed the core made out of clear plastic, and, indeed, the unit that I actually received was clear, not black. The core fit my tape dispenser just fine, and I am satisfied with it. However, I am still a bit annoyed that the product color did not match the photograph that was shown when I originally ordered.Interestingly enough, when I received an e-mail asking me to submit this product review, the photograph attached to the message showed a black core, and the same photograph is shown at the top of the page as I am typing this review. Thus, be aware that this product is available in at least two colors, and what you receive may not match the image shown on the product page.
