My grandson loves to drive it everytime he comes home from daycare. He's a big 1 year old.The car works great out of the box. Easy assumbly and has plenty of power to go up a 30 degree incline. 24 V is definitely the way to go as a 12 V would be under powered for hill climbs. Motors seem a little small, but it's all wheel drive with a motor on each wheel. It came with all the tools necessary for assembly. You just need a set of AAA for remote and AA for the horn and music.
