I have a 2000 Ford Ranger pick-up truck that sits in our driveway. I use it for projects around the house - hauling brush, building supplies, garden supplies, etc. so it often sits for weeks without being started. Often, in the winter, we have temperatures around 0° F or lower (I live in Minnesota). Since the battery sits without use it slowly discharges and requires a jump to start on cold days. I can jump start it but I would prefer not to do so on a below zero day. I decided to try the solar trickle charger to see if it would solve my problem. We just had a stretch of cold weather. This morning it was -13° F and warmed up to -5° F. so I decided to test the battery by starting the truck. It didn't start right up but the battery kept spinning the engine until it started. I am impressed!Things I like about the charger: 1) It works; 2) I had considered an electric trickle charger but that would have to be plugged in and use electricity. The solar panel sits in the front window of the truck and is continually charging the battery as long as there is sunshine. I just unplug it when I use the truck; 3) I have the charger inside the truck attached to the front window with the suction cups that come with the unit and it charges without any problems. I don't have to put it on the outside of the truck; and 4) it is an ingenious solution to my problem. I am pleased with my purchase!

I would say it works well but not perfect. I have a car that sits a lot. This will maintain it pretty well but I’ve found it completely dead too. Probably best if you still start the car once a week or so.

I use this charger for a backup vehicle parked in a remote section of the property which isequipped with an OPTIMA red top battery. It keeps the voltage right where it should be and i can see the status of the charger at a glance thanks to the LED indicator on the front.

Use it to trickle charge my backup generator, before I would have to manually start the generator each month. Now I just go out turn the key and it fires right up. Great product and it works!

Needing a Solar Charger, I bought the 7.5 Watt Powoxi from Amazon, sheerly because it is an Amazon's Choice.It comes with a cigarette lighter 12v plug wire, and a battery clips wire. Wires have a disconnect plug in the middle. If the charger lit up and works as desired, I will make a set of wires with round hole ferrules on the ends to attach it permanently to the battery. Right now, I'm temporarily using the battery clips, and I installed it that way in the battery compartment, which will not be satisfactory on a road trip.I looped the connector wire out the battery door and used the included suction cups to adhere it above the heater door. It is connected to a new-from-the-factory Interstate sealed marine deep cycle. Let's see if it survives Western Dakota weather and foot traffic till we can head south.I like solid the feel of the charger versus a flexible, fabric backed. I chose a smaller size on purpose, for storage, not intending to need a full-time charger. There are keyhole shaped holes on each of the four corners . They fit the included suction cups, and would work with a variety of permanent mounting methods as well.If I were to ask for something else, it would be for wires with round-hole terminals to attach to battery screw posts. So far, I am pleased with the charger.
