Our crabs love to climb and hide behind these! The only thing you must be careful about is if you have a heating mat in your tank that you do not place these directly in front of it. It can be very dangerous for the crabs that like to climb behind them as the heat will be too much for them! Otherwise amazing and very messy to cut!

I purchased this for my grandson’s hermit crabitat. There’s no messy sand and hermit crabs are just fine. The hermit crabs have even burrowed holes into the fibers to rest. It can be vacuumed to clean.

It's very tight woven so if you plan on putting sprouts in it for aquarium carpet it's best to soak it for several days and start the plants from seed so they can root there self to it

These mats are great for what I need it for. They came folded in half, which caused me to believe they were half-sized until I actually opened the package. The crease is noticeable, but should flatten over time. Overall, great deal and great product. I’m also impressed with how fast my order came. That’s the fastest I’ve ever received something, especially considering I chose the standard free shipping option.

I actually bought this for my hermit crabs not a reptile. I of course use coconut substrate in their tank but decided to create kind of a 'second level' to it. I got a crab safe plastic kitchen shelf and fastened this on top of it with chola wood leading up to it like ladders. The hermits seem to really like it they're always hanging out on their new 'second level'.

I wish I could give ZERO stars. The dimensions they provide for the product are completely inaccurate. They seemed a tad small so I measured them the actual dimension is 9.5 by 13 inches.

i lined the back wall of my hermit crab enclosure with this coconut fiber sheet. i used velcro strips to attach it to the inside of the tank. My hermit crabs love climbing up the wall on this material. I also mist the climbing wall to keep humidity levels up in their enclosure and it's working perfectly. One thing to note though, is that it arrives folded in half and it's impossible to get it to flatten out, so it does not lay flat at all. I really dislike how that looks in the tank, but the hermit crabs don't care, so it's fine. Take note of the size as it's nearly impossible to cut.
