It is too early for me to say if they really do the job or not. I just installed but it looks like they will work just fine. Im waiting for one to sink to see how much scum it actually trapped. Will update my review at that time. So to be fair i gave a four, not knowing if the product is good or not.

Started getting foam in my spa. Tried to get rid of it unsuccessfully until I found this. Dropped it in and a few days later the foam was gone. I only run my spa pump for 30 mins every night but even that was enough. Works great!

Our hot tub has never been easier to maintain. This little sponge helps SO much in keeping the water clean and clear. Just wish it wasn't so expensive. I've noticed I've had to add less chemicals to get rid of the scum and cloudy water that is typical with a family of 4 using the tub regularly.

With out a suction cup or clip there are limited places in a hot tub to tie it of to. Product works though.

It is just like the ones we bought from the hot tub dealer and so far it is working just as well. The thing about these is that by looking at it you can't really tell if it is doing anything, but we never have oils floating on the surface, so I guess it is working. What we were told when we bought our hit tub is that as the sponge absorbs oils and smaller particles it will get heavier. Once it is mostly under the water, replace it. Thus us what we have been doing for years. The sponges seem ti last quite a while.We use a skimmer sock on the pre-filter, and of course have a proper pleated filter as well, and treat the water as needed, so it's not like we have gross water anyway, but if someone uses skin lotion etc this is supposed to pick up those oils. We've never been without one, so I haven't compared, but our water stays nice and oil-free, so that probably means it's working.

I use this brand and this sponge all the time. It floats in my swim spa 24/7. The key to its success is NEVER squeeze it or play with it or it releases all the body oil it collected back into the spa. So if you have people in the spa or hot tub, remove it and put it back after everyone is out. I change mine every 6 months and I have very light use. When its feels heavier its time to chuck itCheaper on amazon than buying from my spa store
