My shop has the 0-6” set of these and I use 0-4” several times a day. I wanted my own set for quality control and to save trips to the machine shop to get one. These micrometers are very easy to use. The ratchet and thumb lock are very easy and smooth to operate. They give consistent measurements and are a cinch to calibrate, if needed. I looked at Starret but decided on these due to the cheaper price, my familiarity in using them and a blog I read somewhere about ease of repair and availability of parts if I need to service my micrometers.

These came from India in less than a week. They are the genuine, made in Japan, well made article. They are now a silvery white color, but same great quality. And at the best price out there unless you find a great sale. I'm a 30+ year mold / tool maker. They come with case, standard, and wrench.

No need to review the accuracy of the product. It is indisputable that Mitutoyo is one of the best brands for this type of instruments. I'm rebuilding a German engine and specs are to the tenth thousands of an inch. I tried first to measure my engine with a very economical set but right off the box I had issues with several aspects of the set, from stickers pealing off thebox, scratched components, no instructions, inaccurate calibrating standards, to micros unable to calibrate. So I decided to order this brand instead for three micros that I need. Way out of my initial budget expectations but now I can rely on my measurements. The box came in mint condition with the micro in a sealed plastic bag, the calibrating standard came with a protective dipped like plastic ends which makes the storage and protection against rust and damage ideal. The level of detail and accuracy of the sleeve and thimble is quite crisp. The way the standard aligns with the Anvil and Spindle for calibration gives you an added level of confidence that your measurement will be as accurate as your attention for detail. It is a pricey instrument but now I know what have in my tool box.
